Be Prepared - How to Travel With Kids
It is great to plan family vacations; seeing other parts of the country and world can give your children more knowledge and discovery about other cultures. When you include your kids on your trips, this is a way for family bonding. But also your child would definitely become more aware about the world around him or her.

When kids are with you, you need to be more prepared because they have special needs. With the tips provided below, you can get yourself prepared for the entire trip.

Remember to bring with you some of the most useful things you might need as you travel and as you reach destinations:
• Band-Aids
• Antiseptic hand gel
• Small tissue packs
• Sun screen
• Dr.’s phone numbers
• Tylenol - children’s & adults
• A rubber door stop can provide extra security for a hotel room door
• Small plug in nightlight - to help find the bathroom in the middle of the night

Include these items in your carry-on bag or purse to keep your children occupied and entertained during the trip:
• Crayons
• Mechanical pencils
• Highlighter - good for word search games
• Paper
• Deck of cards
• Zip lock bags (collecting shells, storing food, wet clothes)

These are other miscellaneous things for travel:
• Sun glasses
• Hats/visors
• Light weight wind breakers
• Umbrella
• Camera with extra film

Because of many of the airline travel regulations, you should carry a copy a copy of your children’s birth certificates or their passports. Most children do not have any other form of identification so for extra security, having some form of identification may be helpful. You should also keep a photo of your child in your wallet - in case you lose them in a crowed area as well as extra copies of any travel reservations and airline tickets.

With these pointers in mind, you and your children will be able to enjoy the vacation with all the thrills and the fun.
