As soon as you board your Hawaiian Cruise you will find what seems to be an unending array of things to see and do. Exotic restaurants, incredible shows, and fun activities ensure that boredom is kept at bay while on the ship. Stops in ports such as Kauai, Maui, Hilo and Kona will keep you busy while on shore. The weather is excellent year round and you should find plenty to do from shopping to water sports to sight seeing to enjoying the beaches.

Hawaii is our 50th state yet has its own unique flavor. Although originally settled somewhere around 700 AD, it reflects the character of many different cultures. Each island in the chain has a different feel, but all retain the spirit of Aloha. The Hawaiian people are legendary for their hospitality and kindness.

When organizing for a Hawaiian cruise vacation many adventurers are only packing for sunny temperature and warm sandy shoreline. Knowing that you will be spending a significant bit of your trip on the sandy beach you will savor other pursuits also. Prepare a few tennis shoes a few swimsuits and a few evening wear. But keep in mind that you must add in with you a light-weight set of clothing. The temperature can change rapidly on your vacation. These quick preparations can ensure a better researched vacation. Its also good to add in with you basics ergo for example tanning lotion and protective visor. Without a doubt then keep in mind pursuits ergo for example a novel instamatic and treats also.

It will be nice to keep in mind medical treatment is scarce. Usually if you’re going to be off shore for an extended stretch . Don’t forget to add in a good amount of your standard health products for the duration of your vacation also a few additional. Don’t forget to chat with your health care operative concerning any random interaction with sea sickness medicine might have on your standard health products. Don’t forget to be aware of yourself during your vacation unwind and don’t exhaust yourself.

There are many different islands that make up the state of Hawaii and each is known for different attractions. You can find the Kilauea crater on the island of Hawaii. Legend has it that the fire goddess Pele makes her home in the crater. For amazing natural beauty and water facilities, visit Maui. For nature buffs, Honolulu is a must see.

Of course the simple fact that you’re going to be on a Caribbean cruise means that you’re going to have a fun vacation. However you can add some additional effort to create a trip that you will remember forever. We’ve compiled a list of things you can do to make a good trip great. This article will cover some ideas that will help you create a great Caribbean Cruise.

When preparing for a Caribbean cruise, most people are only thinking about warm weather and sunny beaches. You’ll need to think about more than just that while you’re packing. Although there is plenty of sunshine and beach to enjoy, there are many other activities to enjoy on your trip. Pack some shorts, some muscle shirts, and a few dresses. However also remember to bring a long a light jacket and at least one warmer outfit. Even the sunny demeanor of the weather can turn quickly. A small amount of planning can keep you from being uncomfortable. Don’t forget the obvious sunscreen and dark sunglasses. As well as a good book, some tunes and a camera as well.

It’s good to keep in mind that health care is at a premium. Certainly this holds true of you’re at sea for long periods of time. Always make sure to bring extra medication with you just in case. Also make sure that you’ve confirmed that any sea sickness drug will not effect your medications. Remember that moderation is important, even though you’re on a trip, don’t push yourself. You want to be in good health to enjoy the trip. It’s good to be prepared however don’t over do it. Just bring what’s important.

Think about how much cash you want to carry with you. ATMs are good to use. While it’s not a big concern to be attacked by pirates, don’t carry a lot of cash, this will deter pickpockets and thieves. However make sure you have enough to tip the staff on the cruise and for shopping while in port. This again is where ATMs will come in handy. Paying the usage fees will be less painful then losing all your money to crime.

Make sure that you arrange to have somebody watch you house while you’re on your trip. You will be able to better relax on your Caribbean Cruise knowing that your pets and home are in good hands. Make sure you choose a person whom you trust. Make sure things run as they usually do. Do not cancel any regular services you usually use. Confirm that people have a way to get in touch with you if they need to reach you in case of emergency.

Just these easy rules can help make your special vacation an easy and relaxing joy. These small gestures can ensure an easy time that is worry free on your Caribbean cruise. Pack with a plan, watch the cash you carry and make sure your home is watched by friends. Now you can enjoy this trip you’ve been planning so hard for.

It is a business that has come down through a family of ship-owners and is owned by that same family today. Cruises are available with this line for many different purposes. You may find one you want to take.

Sightseeing Cruises

There are four types of cruises offered by the company that sail the Boston Harbor in search of sightseeing experiences. Guides will tell you stories of the historical sites, characters, and point out views of the city. These cruises are ideal if you are new to the area and want to explore your surroundings. However, they are relaxing getaways for anyone.

The Sunset Cruises only last 90 minutes, but a lot is packed into that time. You not only get to see the sunset. You also get to experience the ceremonies that take place aboard the USS Constitution as the day ends. These include a firing of the cannon and a flag lowering ceremony. There is even some time for sightseeing on these cruises.

Boston Harbor Cruises’ Lighthouse Cruises are much longer, lasting about five hours. These guides for these cruises are lighthouse experts from the American Lighthouse Foundation. They can explain details about the lighthouses you encounter. One interesting one is the twin lighthouses on Thacher Island, which are the only ones of their kind still operating in the US.

The Lighthouse Cruises begin in Boston and passes near at least twelve different lighthouses. The oldest in the US is the Boston Light. You will learn a lot about lighthouses, but you will also see some beautiful scenery.

Adventure Cruises

Boston Harbor Cruises will give you a guarantee that you will spot a whale on your whale watching cruise with them. If not, they will give you a ticket for another trip. They operate 400 passenger catamarans that get you to the whale watching area at high speed. There are three outside decks, although there is room for climate controlled cabin space. The guides for the trips are experts from the Whale Center of New England.

The cruise line’s newest cruise is called Codzilla. It is a fun-filled cruise that you take on a fast and powerful ship, riding as fast as 40 miles an hour. This is a wet and wild ride, complete with blaring music. It is not for the feint of heart, but if you are adventurous, it might be for you.

You have many trips to choose from if you want to go on Boston Harbor Cruises. Some are serene, while others are more daring. In any case, all of these cruises are short escapes from the realities of daily life.

For people who enjoyed unspoiled beaches, reefs and native people this is a fantastic adventure. This adventure is aboard a small ship which holds approximately 120 people, the Reef Escape.

You will begin your cruising adventure with a welcome at Tivua Island. Enjoy a wonderful welcome dinner in the evening and a visit to a private island. Enjoy some snorkeling or the pristine beach.

The following is a possible itinerary as changes can occur.

Day 2: Enjoy a day of relaxation as you visit the north coast of Viti Levu and also enjoy some stops for beaching and snorkeling. Enjoy pre dinner cocktails in the Lounge.

Day 3: Arrive at the port of Levuka on Ovalua. This was the first European settlement in Fiji and was a huge destination for sailors and had a wild reputation. There is an optional tour available and in the afternoon you will visit a Convent school.

Day 4: Today you will enjoy Savusavu which is located on Vanua Levu, the 2nd largest island in Fiji. You can enjoy visits to a pearl farm, hot springs and open markets. You can enjoy beaching and snorkeling later in the afternoon.

Day 5: Today you will visit Tavenuni Island. You can enjoy an optional bus tour to Bourna Waterfall which is in a picturesque setting. Afterwards you can visit the markets and a feast of fresh local seafood and incredible tropical fruits. Enjoy dancing to the native music in the evening.

Day 6: Enjoy an unforgettable choral church service on the west side of Taveuni. This island is located on the 180th Meridian which is the Dateline Meridian, the line between today and tomorrow. After visiting the dateline you will enjoy a cruise along the coast of Vanua Levu.

Day 7: Enjoy Sali Sali Island which is found on the north side of Viti Levu. Here you will enjoy your last snorkeling and beach combing. If there is time you will stop at a mystery island after this. There will be celebrations, cocktails and appetizers served before the gala farewell dinner. There will be South Pacific music played for you to dance to.

Day 8: You will enjoy breakfast and disembark at Denarau Marina.

So what makes this a special trip?

1) Taking a small trip to these locations give you the ability to see things few people in the world will be fortunate enough to see.

2) The beaches are pristine, you will not find more unspoiled locations anywhere in your travels.

3) There is a great mix of enjoying wildlife, culture and relaxation.

Even though South Shore Lake Tahoe has always been admired for skiing and boarding, there are a host of other indoor and outdoor activities that gain acclaim for the area from national reporters. In addition to that is the most recent: a top rating from Orbitz for 2007 based on bookings for hotels and holiday packages.

Recently SKI Magazine’s 2007 Resort Guide rated Heavenly Mountain Resort as the third best for scenery, off-hill activities and after ski. In the same issue of the magazine Kirkwood Mountain Resort was featured on the cover and given a No. eight rating for best “snow” in North America.

Transworld Snowboarding’s winter 2006 issue classified Sierra-at-Tahoe No. 4 for terrain parks, and number seven for top pipes and total snowboading resort.

Given these recent awards, plus recent snows covering the Tahoe area are just more reminders that the fun has just begun at the U. S.’s number one winter resorts. Skiing is still the top draw but many other winter activities give fun for all ages and interests.

Heavenly’s Gondola - This ride will take your breath away. Be prepared to take photographs of the endless landscapes of Lake Tahoe seen from the gondola. The resort has many snowshoe and hiking trails from one and a half to four miles round-trip. You can spend the day wandering through the Sierra forests.

Get to the Lake aboard the M.S. Dixie or Tahoe Queen Paddlewheel boats. You’ll be surrounded by 10,000 foot mountains topped with snow and mirrored in the pristine waters of North America’s largest mountain lake. Learn lake history and enjoy delicious food in warm comfort on the two to three hour trips. They leave from Zephyr Cove or Ski Run Boulevard and typically include a tour of Emerald Bay.

For outdoor ice skating fun try the rink at Heavenly Village nestled in among the galleries, shops, Movie Theater and fine restaurants. The City of South Lake Tahoe has an NHL standard-sized ice rink in the Recreation Complex a little more than a mile from the Village.

Put some real excitement in your life with a helicopter ride from HeliTahoe Helicopter over the lake. Even try a full moon tour over the sparkling waves. Other options include the Nevada shore, Secret Harbor and other coves of interest. And, for a most unusual wedding, how about tying the knot while hovering over the lake. HeliTahoe has joined up with Simple Tahoe Weddings so you possibly can ‘take the plunge’ over Tahoe.

Try shopping at The Shops at Heavenly Village, The Village Center or the Factory Stores at the Y. Top top-quality clothes, sporting goods and apparel, in addition to fine jewelry are featured.

The Village Center nearby has even more options with 29 retail shops. The Factory Stores at the Y have terrific bargains and you’ll find them at the intersection of Highway 50 and 89 with 18 more shops of name brand clothes, shoes, training fashions and winter ski wear. Art and photo galleries centered throughout the South Shore offer fine artistic works. Over 20 galleries offer jewelry, art glass, sculpture, prints and oil and acrylic paintings.

Ever dream of coming home a millionaire? Nevada gaming establishments offer 7,000 slot machines and 400 gaming tables at the six, 24-hour casinos including Harrah’s, Harveys, MontBleu, Horizon, Bill’s and Lakeside Inn

Like fine dining? South Shore offers every choice from Ciera Steak + Chophouse’s award winning food at the MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa or The Summit at Harrah’s, to a varied collection of local ethnic options, steakhouses, burger shops and cute local restaurants hiding on the side drags. Tahoe’s reputation for fine dining grows every year.

Book lovers will find a great read at from among the many area bookstores including Neighbors in the Village Center.

When you’re ready to completely unwind and relax there is a choice of quiet spas throughout the town at the major hotels and casinos in addition to small independent shops.

Walt Disney World - How to Use Fastpass at Walt Disney World

Fastpass was designed by Disney to relieve some of the congestion at their theme parks and ultimately let visitors avoid many of the long lines most guest at WDW become so use to experiencing. It is surprising though how many people simply don’t take advantage of the Fastpass opportunity and continue to wait in two hour theme park ride lines that they could have easily avoided.

I think there’s a lot of misunderstanding how it works so let me explain how you can avoid some of the worst lines at Walt Disney World on your next vacation.

First of all, Fastpass is free to anyone holding a Disney parks admittance ticket. So if you’ve got your ticket to enter Walt Disney World, then you’ve got your ticket to use Fastpass. In order to use it, all you need to do is place your Disney theme park ticket into the Fastpass machine at any ride where it is available and it will then give you a ticket with a return time for that attraction. You then return to that attraction anytime during the “return time” which is usually an hour long, so you don’t have to race back to get on the ride the moment your pass becomes valid.

Once your return time has rolled around, all you have to do is return to the attraction, get in the fastpass line and hand it over to the Disney cast member. You will still sometimes have to wait a bit before getting to ride the attraction, but usually it is no more than 10 minutes.

When Disney first started this system, you could only hold one pass at a time, but they’ve since relaxed the rules slightly. Now, you can get your next one either at the start of the “return time” for your current pass or two hours after the one you are holding was issued. Because you will generally be holding only one at a time, it makes sense to have an attack plan for the attractions where you want to use it. Fastpass attractions tend to be spread throughout the park to prevent bottlenecks in one area of the theme park, so you’ll want to plan a route that keeps you from criss-crossing the park all day long.

Because Disney uses an algorithm based upon the number of fastpasses issued for any particular attraction, it’s important to go and get yours early for the most popular rides on very busy days. Otherwise you may find yourself with a return time that is scheduled late in the evening, after you’ve long since left the park. On the busiest days, some attractions will run out of their allotment very early in the day. This is a common occurrence at Animal Kingdom’s Everest rollercoaster and Disney-MGM’s Tower of Terror, so get yours early for both these attractions if you’re at Disney World in the summer or on a holiday weekend.

Fastpass isn’t available at every attraction in the Walt Disney theme parks, but it is usually in place for many of the most popular rides, including: Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom; Soarin’, Mission Space and Test Track at Epcot; Rock-n-Roll Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror at Disney-MGM Studios; and Kali River Rapids, Dinosaur and Expedition Everest at Animal Kingdom.

Effective January 31, 2008, adult United States and Canadian citizens reentering the United States and Canada by land, ferry, or by small boat must carry a passport or a government issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, plus proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate. Children 18 and younger require proof of citizenship only.

Cruise passengers are officially exempt, but cruise lines recommend passports and already require a photo ID, such as a driver’s license, and proof of citizenship.

All US travelers returning from the Caribbean, Mexico, Bermuda, and Canada by air have had to carry passports since January 23, 2007. The change of restrictions in January 2007 created a surge in demand for passports, resulting in extended delays of several months to process the increased number and backlog of requests. Turnaround time for a standard passport is now four to six weeks. Expect to wait three weeks for an expedited passport.

The new guidelines effective January 31, 2008 extend the air travel restrictions to land, ferry, and small boat. Plan ahead for international travel, regardless of the mode of transportation, and allow enough time to procure or renew your passport if necessary.

E-Passports

Since August 2007, the United States has been issuing Electronic Passports only.

The U.S. Electronic Passport (e-passport) is similar to the former passport with the addition of a small integrated circuit computer chip embedded in the back cover. The chip securely stores the same data visually displayed on the photo page of the passport, and includes a digital photograph of the bearer. The inclusion of the digital photograph enables biometric comparison, through the use of facial recognition technology, at international borders. The U.S. e-passport also has a new look, incorporating the latest anti-fraud and security features.

Passports without chips will still be valid for the extent of the original validity period, and must be replaced with the new e-passport at the time of renewal

If you have an existing US Passport that is less than 15 years old, is not damaged, you were at least 16 years old when it was issued, and you name has not changed or you can provide documents to prove that it was legally changed, then you may be eligible to renew your passport by mail. Passports can be renewed through the mail by submitted the appropriate DS-82 form, two identical passport photographs, and a check or money order for the processing fee. The address, current fee, and DS-82 form are available at the U.S. Department of State web site, http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/renew/renew_833.html

The NEXUS Program

The United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), are cooperating in a joint venture to simplify passage for pre-approved low risk travelers.

NEXUS members now have crossing privileges at any air, land, and marine ports of entry. Under the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative, the NEXUS card has been approved as an alternative to the passport for air travel into the United States for US and Canadian citizens. The NEXUS program allows pre-screened, low risk travelers to be processed with little or no delay by the United States and Canadian officials at designated highway lanes at high volume border crossing locations, at a NEXUS kiosk at the Canadian pre-clearance airports, and at select marine locations in the Great Lakes and Seattle, Washington.

Individuals may qualify to participate in NEXUS if they are a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or Canada, residing in either country, or if they are a citizen of a country other than Canada or the United States who plans to temporarily reside lawfully in Canada or in the United States for the term of their NEXUS membership and who pass criminal history and law enforcement checks. Individuals may be denied NEXUS if inadmissible to the United States or Canada under applicable immigration law, provide false or incomplete information on the application, have been convicted of a criminal offense in any country for which they have not received a pardon, have previously violated customs or immigration law, or fail to meet stated requirements of the NEXUS program.

To apply for NEXUS, complete a single application and pay one fee. The form can be submitted on-line via the Global On-Line Enrollment (GOES), mailed, or faxed. Qualified applicants are required to come to a NEXUS Enrollment Center only once, for an interview and issuance of a photo-identification card. NEXUS allows United States and Canadian border agencies to concentrate efforts on potentially higher risk travelers and goods, to ensure security and integrity of the borders. NEXUS allows citizens of the United States and Canada to reduce delays at border crossings, and is an excellent form of international travel identification to accompany your passport.

At the time that this article was written, the one time application fee for a five (5) year NEXUS card is $50 US, and the fee for a US passport renewal is $67 US.

Yes, I said a free Vacation to Las Vegas, and no I have not had a few too many free cocktails at my favorite Las Vegas casino. Over the last few years I have made many trips to Las Vegas and a couple of them have been free. The trips included airfare and hotel. With those two major expenses taken care of, I had more money to see shows, eat in fancy restaurants, and gamble.

You have to remember that finding a free vacation will take a little effort on your part, so if your willing to exchange a little time for an airline ticket and a free hotel room this information is for you.

The first way to acquire a free vacation is not for people who can’t endure a lousy sales person talking to you for one to two hours. If you can constantly say no, then taking advantage of the companies selling timeshares may be for you. Simply go to your favorite online search engine and type in timeshares and you will be see a lot of companies offering vacations and other gifts, if your interested simply contact them and sign up. If you cannot take a two-hour presentation, or you can be talked into buying things you don’t need avoid this method at all cost.

I went through one timeshare company and three hours and saying no about a hundred times, I finally left with my vacation package. I had to pay the taxes and wait about sixty days before I could actually go because of date restrictions, but finally with a little persistence I enjoyed my free, three-day vacation in Las Vegas.

The second way I won a free vacation was by entering a sweepstakes on the Internet. Well, actually I entered about twenty! I remember my girlfriend telling me there was no way I could win. So when I did win and it included three nights at the Bellagio I made her apologize before I took her with me!

The third way is to search all your local charity raffles. I can usually find several a year that offer inexpensive tickets with a chance to win a free Las Vegas Vacation. I always buy these tickets and if I don’t win at least the money goes to a good cause. Sometimes you can find these raffles on the Internet locally or all across the country with your favorite search engine.

Always remember that even if you win a free Las Vegas vacation you will have to pay the taxes. So if you are willing to invest a little time and effort a free vacation can be yours.

Route 66 is undeniably one of the most celebrated highways in America. From some of the most picturesque views in the United States to its distinct diagonal angle that runs between Chicago and Los Angeles, Route 66 has all the elements that continues to captivate USA Road Trip lovers. Take the journey through and discover why the road trip spells out legendary proportions!

How it all began:

Route 66 is a highway constructed in the mid-1920’s to answer the demands of the fast evolving United States economy at that time. Route 66 differs from other roads of that era, such as the Lincoln and the Dixie, because it did not follow the conventional linear path. Instead, it sprawled diagonally to connect the rural communities in Illinois, Missouri and Kansas to the towns of Chicago. There is so much to see in these towns that they should be part of any road trip. Check out the town of Galena, which is in the north-western tip of Illinois. There are several museums and historical homes there for a truly “walk down history lane” experience.

Route 66 was originally built to enable the transport of farming goods along the way. This was very difficult to accomplish before the creation. Farmers were not the only ones to benefit from the highway, it also served well thousands of truck drivers. Offering considerably milder weather compared to the harsher climate found along the northern roads, Route 66 proved to be a better option for many truck drivers.

The evolution:

During the years before and after WWII, it thrived with the establishments built along the highway. There were inns and motels, gas stations and just about every kind of café you can think of. Tourists flocked to the road just for the thrill of being there, and to experience what was then considered the “Main Street of America.”

During the Great Depression, Route 66 bore witness to thousands of people migrating from the Industrial East to the more promising suburban towns in Southern California (San Diego, Hollywood, Los Angeles, etc.) The road became a symbol for hope. The road trip tells a unique American story.

You can opt for a full length adventure or break it out into bites, like visiting the Albuquerque section. Plan your trip around Attractions, Hotels, and Restaurants that include Route 66 in their offerings. There is so much to see around that you will never run our of things to explore. Just the names are intriguing: Restaurants like Artichoke Cafe and Left at Albuquerque, or hotels like the Route 66 Inn, and attractions like the Drive-In Theatre, National Route 66 Museum, and the International Mother Road Festival.

Your next great adventure is just an interstate highway away!

Ever think about a Hawaii Vacation? A Hawaiian get-a-way is very exotic compared to anywhere else in this world. My auntie went to Hawaii for her honeymoon and loved it so much that she had to go back for her one year anniversary.

One reason that Hawaii travel seems to be the ideal choice for state side tourists is because it is the only exotic/tropical vacation you can take without having to obta a passport. Now Tahiti and the Caribbean islands are beautiful too but if you have to choose between the hassle of applying for and getting a passport and just booking a flight and leaving…I would rather get up and go..

..so when my aunt asked me if I wanted to go with her this year back to Hawaii on vacation with her kids I very eagerly replied, Yes! It looks like the warm and sunny weather will have to enjoy a fresh piece of this Arizona meat. I will most definitely enjoy the tropical atmosphere.

She described her travel adventures as delightful and fun and truly a tropical getaway. Tourism in Hawaii seems to be increasing over the recent years. I remember when I went to Oahu on my Hawaii vacation with the kids the beaches on Waikiki were busy but not overwhelmingly overcrowded. My aunt said that the beaches were jam packed, especially in areas that wedding receptions were being held.

One thing that I remember about Hawaii travel is that you need to wear sunscreen or else you will roast like a lobster. Sunscreen with an spf of 50 or more should help to keep those hot hawaiian sun rays off your skin.
