Top 5 Pet Peeves at Walt Disney World and How to Avoid Them
Ask anyone who has taken a vacation to Walt Disney World, and you may hear a few complaints. Not about the theme parks or their hotel. Their complaints are pet peeves about other guests. These tips will help you avoid blunders and make it easier for you, your family and your fellow guests to enjoy your vacation.

1. Unprepared Newbies:
You’ll never learn everything you need to know by waiting until you get into the parks. Read the park maps before you go to the theme parks. Get a good travel guide, and read their descriptions. Order park maps through eBay before you travel, or pick up copies when you check into your hotel.

2. Walkway Wanderers:
Stopping in the middle of the walkway creates a hazard for other guests. When you need to study the park map while you’re in the park, step to the side of the walkway. Ditto if you want to gaze at Cinderella’s Castle or other scenery. Other guests may run over you or your little ones, which is just plain goofy.

3. Speeding Bullets:
Walk - don’t run - in the parks. Sound simple? But surprisingly, this is one of the most common complaints from other guests. Watch your children, and remind them to walk. Expedition Everest and every other attraction will be there when you get there.

4. Bumper Car Drivers:
To avoid bumping into other guests, keep your eyes forward when pushing a stroller or driving an ECV. After parades or evening fireworks, the walkways are so crowded that it’s impossible to navigate without risking a collision with another desk. Hang out for a few minutes and let the crowds thin out before moving.

5. Flashers:
Flash photography is not allowed on indoor attractions. That means no flashing on Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan’s Flight, it’s a small world or any other indoor ride. The flash on your camera isn’t strong enough to capture a good photography anyway, so don’t bug your fellow guests. Get a postcard with a professional photograph. Get out your wallet and purchase the ride photo with you in the shot.

So get a good guidebook, learn about the parks in advance, and pack your patience. Your courtesy helps create a magic atmosphere for everyone! And wouldn’t it be nice to be part of the magic of Walt Disney World?
